If you look at the videos, the start of the race has Sebastian Saavedra in the pole position.  Sebastian stalled on the startup and gets rear-ended by the cars in the back of the field.  After that Indycar was leery of standing starts.  They did go back to them, but gave more space between cars.  Saavedra was uninjured in the crash.

The blue car being rolled out for the start was the eventual winner of the race Simon Pagenaud, in car 77.  I just happened to be hanging around Gasoline Alley at the time they were rolling the car out.  The owner seems to have a lot of spirit, confidence!  Simon pulls up in the golf cart towards the end of the video.
