John “Jack” Nicholson

John “Jack” Nicholson, 85, of Danville, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017, in Crawfordsville, IN. Visitation will be from 10-Noon, Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville. Services will be at Noon at Pape’s with Pastor Drew Mentzer officiating. Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery with honors by Danville Post 210.
Jack was born September 24, 1931, in Danville to Ralph and Myrtle (Frye) Nicholson. He attended Danville Schools, and after school joined the Navy. He did a world cruise, and served on the U.S.Healy. Upon return, he met the love of his life Charlotte Anne Miller. He managed the computer operations at Tee-Pak for many years, and also worked at Flexel in Covington. Jack was an active member at the Second Church of Christ, and he also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Illini.
Jack married Anne on May 20, 1956, she preceded him in death in 2007. Survivors include his sons: John “J.T.” (Mary) Nicholson Jr., Jeffrey S. (Tina) Nicholson; grandchildren: Alex, Emily, Nicole, and Jacob; Sister Joyce Nicholson Eicken; and a niece Pamela Sue Miller Bracewell. He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, and sister Marilyn Jean Nicholson.
Turns out that there are quite a few more than I remembered. I do remember the tune from the late 50’s early 60’s, but the stories were eye opening!
