Falcon 9 • Bangabandhu 1

 

Scrubbed due to a last minute hold on May 10th.  Rescheduled for May 11th,  4:14 PM EDT.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket will launch the Bangabandhu 1 communications satellite for the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission. The spacecraft will provide broadcasting and telecommunication services to rural areas and introduce direct-to-home television programming across Bangladesh and neighboring countries. The Bangabandhu 1 satellite was built by Thales Alenia Space. This will be the first launch of the upgraded Block 5 version of SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket. Delayed from December, February, April 5, April 24, May 4 and May 7. [May 7]

This video will show the launch of the Insight Mars Lander until just before the launch widow for Falcon 9 – Bangabandhu 1.

 

SpaceX Falcon 9 Launched February 22nd

The mission will launch 3 Satellites:

PAZ,  a radar satellite for Spain

and

Microsat-2a and Microsat-2b, part of SpaceX’s Starlink broadband satellite constellation.

Launch was initially scheduled for February 18th, but was delayed due to issues with the fairing (nose cone).

February 21 launch cancelled due to high level wind shear exceeding maximum limits.  Will retry on the 22nd.

The launch window is instaneous,  There is no ability to hold the countdown.
